I did it!
I bought the bike. Pics soon.
Also, it looks like I may have an interview early next week with my motorcycle instructor, her M-F employer not the motorcycle school. It pays to play!

What a day! Yesterday was tons of fun. Julie and I went to a motorcycle dealership to look at bikes and gear. They have a special right now that seems hard to beat ($1000 off msrp). So I'm going back to test ride today.
Last night was awesome. We were going to go to a friend's place for a bbq but they suggested we go to "Film on the Rocks" instead. So, we drove the 1.5hrs to Red Rocks to be a part of a Guiness World Record attempt for the largest music lesson, listened to a couple musicians, a comedian and then watched Indiana Jone's Last Crusade. For those of you not framiliar with Red Rocks, it is one of the greatest outdoor amphitheaters ever. There was even a lighting show behind the stage. It was amazing. All for $10/person!
Check out the pics.

So, I had the motorcycle class this weekend. It was a blast and everything went well. 10 people in the class, only one with less experience than me and I had the second highest riding test score. Just got back from the dmv to get the license. Time for another toy...thank you Julie! Few wives let their husbands have this much fun.
Oh, the photo biz is officially open. I have most of the licenses, banking stuff and whatnot, just need to buy and setup my site. Exciting stuff.

Hiking (Pictures Below)
So, we decided to go hiking today - rather than kayaking. We did a 7.5 mile loop in RMNP that took about 5 hours. We tried doing the same hike in May but there was too much snow! Despite being mid-July we were still able to touch some snow sitting next to the trail. We saw a couple deer from the car, trout, some chipmunks and that was about it. We were sucked dry by swarms of mosquitoes, good thing we had long sleeve shirts in our backpacks. Deet would have been sweet. Our dogs are howling, we hate life, hiking sucks.....we're sissies. We'll probably go again next weekend.

So, the snow melt rate should slow soon I hope. That means fly fishing. So we went on a scenic trip today to the Poudre River which is found NE of Fort Collins. We drove about 200 miles round trip. The road is supposed to be one of the most scenic in the state, it did not disappoint. The air temperature was in the mid-90's (until this evening when the wind was howling and it rained), the water was very tempting. There were MANY white water rafters and kayakers enjoying it all, some fly fisherpeople (just as many women as men), and the occassional crazy intertubber. We wanted to drive further to continue our exploration but we ran out of time. Anyways, the following pictures need no further description.

It was nearly 100 degrees here today, so we did what we could to escape the heat. We basked in it! We took our kayak to Boulder Reservoir and enjoyed the slightly cooler air blowing over the water. Being the laziest kayakers in history, we paddled into the wind and then we relaxed and let the wind blow us all of the way back. So much for exercise. Sorry no pics, we didn't want to worry about the camera drowning. The place was great, decent sized lake, sand, nice people, and we didn't get chopped to bits by ski boats.
