Merry Christmas
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
It's cold and icy outside, got to work from home today (half day). It started snowing Tuesday night and stopped sometime last night. Our first of many white Christmas' to come!
Julie and I went to a hockey game a couple nights ago (AVS vs Ducks). Ducks were losing 2-0. I was pissed, it was the first game we've seen in many months and they were getting beat, badly-even though they were out shooting at about 2:1. That is, until 10 minutes left they scored, then again, again, and again. Go Ducks!
On the way home from the game-it was about 1130pm and 3 miles from home. Light turned yellow about 1/4 mile ahead. I hit the brakes, ABS tried to do its job (and failed), closest car was about 1/2 mile behind us. In a few hundred yards we might have slowed 5-10 mph-I gave up. That light was RED. Glad it didn't have a camera!

We'e still alive, I think
Sorry it's been so long since the last post. I've had issues with my eyes for nearly 3 months now, gone to 3 Dr's a total of 6 times, tried 4 prescriptions, and still no improvement. They still aren't even sure what the problem is. All I know is that my eyes are red, dry, and hurt more as the day goes on. After being on the computer for 8 hrs at work I can't spend even one minute on it at home.
Winter is here, killing us slowly. Record lows a couple nights ago, hitting below 0! It's weird going to work in the morning/coming home at night when it is in the single digits! I called Julie while my car was warming up for the long (3 mile) drive home, I was shivering uncontrollably despite the gloves and hat. I, half jokingly, asked when we were moving back to CA. It's hardly even December! What the heck?!
Julie put the Christmas lights up (first time we've had a place we could do that) when it was in the teen's-just a little different than the 80+ degree Christmas' we had grown accustomed to. After an hour of being in the house, with the heat cranked up, she still hadn't fully thawed.
We went to home depot this last week to get decorations and our tree. It's been a while since we've had a real sized tree...we usually get veal trees (~5ft), poor wee babies slaughtered in their prime! This year we have a massive, kiss the ceiling, no room for a topper, from wall-to-wall TREE!
I declared that "We are moving up in the world" (even though it was only $25 for the 18ft noble), then I realized Julie still couldn't reach the top even while standing on a chair. Does that qualify as irony?
Job is still good, I've been there about 3.5 months now. Just finished the quarter ok'ish, so we get a small bonus/commission thing. There is supposed to be a Holiday party in early January but they already uninvited spouses...so we'll see how that turns out.
I was hoping this would be better, after a hiatus and all.
Alas, only I would bring bullet points to a blog.
Forgiveness por favor, my brain is frozen.
