What the heck!

Yesterday it was in the 90's and today hit 50 around home as promised...only surprise was SNOW! That's right people, snow. From work I was able to see a thin strip of mountains between the flatland and the dark sky and it was white. The foothills (elev ~6000ft) got a nice dusting and when the clouds parted for just a couple minutes I could see tons of snow on Longs Peak.

So much going on...

So, I went for a ride this morning, almost to estes park, and the trees are already becoming good and yellow! Aspens line much of the road and clusters waaaay up on the mountains. Some at the higher elevations are already red. It was in the low 90's today but the high tomorrow is supposed to be 50!!!

We started moving today! We loaded up the car with about 81 boxes of kitchen stuff. We move fully in two weeks and Julie is committed to 4 more weeks of kid care.

We signed!

The place is ours!!! Muahahaha, all ours!!!
It is all Julie described to me except for the a/c...it has none. There is some tree cover, but it is between other units and the insulation is better than homes in CA. Julie drops off the checks and picks up the keys tomorrow, although we don't officially take occupancy until 10/1. She'll be measuring and take pictures to put up here.
She no longer has to spend 2hrs a day surfing the net, calling/emailing and looking at places. No more disappointments...working toilets in the kitchen pantry, cat pee stench, and other amazing stories. So she's happy about that!
We didn't save as much as we would have liked while living rent free. I'm not sure exactly how, but our credit card bill has been staggering for the last couple months...probably because we could. Time to tighten the ol' belt!
Julie has a craft show Saturday...if you have any mind control powers, please will people to buy crap, I mean crafts, from her. Hopefully this one is better than the last, it would not be hard to beat.

MOVING on, hopefully

Not a whole lot to report. Julie has a craft show coming up (9/19) and she is still dealing with the wonderfully incompetent city to get the tax cert she needs. One of her crazy craft ideas is above. Apparently, wearing a pumpkin is fashionable-who'd a thought.

I still like my job, just got my first paycheck. I've already had a paid holiday and bbq/picnic!

We have begun to lose our minds down here in the basement, only took 7 months...neither of us thought we would be able to make it this long. Put 2 animals in an enclosed and stressful space and ordinarily you get death...so at least that hasn't happened...yet. Although, Julie does have bite marks (darn children and their teeth, who needs teeth anyways) and bruises from my maniacal sleeping madness. Anyways, Julie has been hunting through craigslist to find a place to stay. She's finally found one that we think will be ours 10/1 if all goes well. It's a remodeled 2bd 1ba townhouse with a finished basement and a one car garage. New wood floors and carpet, all appliances included, new & efficient heater, a/c and water heater. We should know Monday, once he's had time to call our references. It's a disgracefully long, 2.9 miles to my office (currently ~17 miles). So, it would take about twice as long to put on & take off my motorcycle gear than it would take to get there.
